CIREHA has developed Cboard- an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) open source web application for children and adults with speech and language impairments, aiding communication with symbols and text-to-speech.The objective is to develop a tool that is accessible anywhere via cloud, usable on any device hence facilitating accessibility, availability and portability of the solution - the web application has 33 languages currently active. Although several popular AAC applications have been developed, it is difficult to measure and hold user data and customization features across devices. In addition, most Spanish speaking AAC tools are typically high in cost as they are developed in Spain. As such, CIREHA intends to address these issues through presence on the cloud for accessibility on any device, in addition to local development in Argentina.
In 2020, Cireha received cryptocurrency funding from the UNICEF CryptoFund. Find out more here.
