The first pillar of WiiQare’s platform is health savings. WiiQare makes health saving easy by partnering with local retailers to offer loyalty programs that enable customers to earn “health credits” from their everyday purchases. For example, a WiiQare user making a purchase at a partnering gas station receives 7.5% cashback into their WiiQare wallet. Funds within a user’s wallet enable them to finance their healthcare expenses through direct payments to hospitals and pharmacies. WiiQare’s second pillar is money transfer. As stated above, the key payer for healthcare in Africa is the family. The aim of this project is to facilitate cross-border remittances powered by blockchain, enabling migrants to easily transfer money to family and friends in Africa to finance their medical expenses, and to offer this service in a manner that is traceable and at no cost to the user.
