Where you’re from and where you are now?
I'm a Latin soul originally from Bogota, Colombia. After spending several years in different countries of Europe, I'm currently enjoying the Scandinavian lifestyle in Stockholm, Sweden.
What you were doing before joining UNICEF?
For nearly a decade, I dedicated myself to the vibrant world of education in Bogota's private sector. Moved by a strong instinct for change, I embarked on a new career direction in International Development, which led me ultimately to UNICEF. For four years I contributed to impactful projects in the Europe and Central Asia Regional Office, now I'm thrilled to be part of The Venture Fund team.
What has been your biggest success in your role at UNICEF?
At UNICEF, my most fulfilling experience has been working hand-in-hand with a fantastic experts, focused on tackling the most important challenges for children. Along the way, I've gained an incredible knowledge and unforgettable experiences. My heart swells with pride when I think about the positive changes we've brought to families during events like the COVID pandemic and the Ukraine conflict. Looking forward, my ultimate triumph is embracing a steep learning curve and keep delivering the top-notch high-tech solutions to ensure innovation for every child.
What was your dream job when you were a child?
As a kid, I used to dream about becoming a marine biologist. Funny thing is, Bogota, the city I grew up in, is surrounded by mountains and completely landlocked. But you see, my dream wasn't just about the science – it was about the idea of forever being on a seaside holiday, soaking up the sun and waves!
What is your hidden skill / talent?
Gardening is a hidden talent that has taken me by surprise, and I've fallen for nurturing plants. Whether it's dedicating hours or even whole days, I find pure joy in nurturing my garden's vibrant greens.
